It is essential that you learn and practise good hygiene when handling contact lenses and follow your Eye Care Professional’s instructions for contact lens wearing and replacement schedules. Here are some simple tips to keep in mind while wearing your lenses.

DOs and DON’Ts

DOs

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with a mild soap and dry with a lint-free towel before handling your lenses.
  • Inspect your lens before putting it into your eye to ensure that it is clean and free of any tears or debris.
  • Insert and remove your lenses in the same order (left then right or vice versa) to avoid any mix up.
  • Remove lenses before you go swimming
  • Remove your lenses immediately should you experience any eye discomfort, excessive tearing, vision changes, or redness of the eye and promptly contact your Eye Care Professional.

DON’T

  • Touch the lens with your fingernails and never use tweezers or tools to remove lenses from the lens container unless specifically indicated for that purpose.
  • Wear your lenses beyond the recommended time.
  • Share contact lenses with others.
  • Use saliva, tap water or anything other than the recommended solutions for lubricating/ wetting lenses.
  • Put lenses in your mouth.
  • Wear expired lenses.
